The blossoming fruit trees in the foreground of this downtown Denver photograph know spring is here.  Although too dry and much too warm, our weather seems to be about 3 weeks ahead of schedule.  Call it global warming or climate change, this Denver native knows it’s real.  Early April in Denver did not use to be shorts and barefoot kind of weather, at least not with the kind of regularity we’ve been seeing this century.  And the month of March 2012 was the driest March ever.  Usually colorado’s snowiest month, March 2012 saw only a trace of snow for the month.  We had to be quick to capture snow on the mountains.  This photograph was made a day after an early April snowstorm.

Climate change in Colorado

Sure people are worried about the effects of climate change.  And although the conversation about global warming is impossible to avoid, there’s a sense that nothing can be done to prevent it.  More than ever, it seems people are looking out for themselves.

And this Denver photographer is no different.  After many years of effort, DeCroce Photography is finally at the top of  the Google list for Denver photographers.  So for at least in one keyword set, (Corporate photography in Denver) and at least for now, we’re on the top.  And as commercial photographers in Colorado, what we want most is to photograph the executives and products of every single Denver corporation.  Maybe on the way to creating stunning advertising photos, we’ll get an assignment to document the effects of climate change here in Colorado.

It’s been a miracle that the chickadees have shooed away the crows this spring.  At least for now, the air is filled with the sweet sound of the chickadee rather than those nasty squawking crows.

And it’s been heavenly to hear the song of the chickadee through my window while I work on Denver photography projects.

Scouting new locations for commercial photo-shoots in Colorado is always a fun task, especially when accompanied by my eight year old assistant Levi.  As we walked across the grassy meadow towards the granite bluffs, I remember my astute helper saying “Papa, this is too flat for good pictures”.  And he was right.

I did capture what I think are some stunning images of our corporate subject in the grassy meadow.  But the art director ultimately made his choice from the images taken among the rocks.  And it was my companion’s idea to check out the steep granite.  Whenever Levi and I go hiking, he’s the navigator.  He reads the maps and decides which trails should be followed. And on this day, he lead us on almost an eight mile trek.  I was breathing pretty heavy as he ran up and then back down over the mountainous terrain at Algerfer park.  Strangers are always surprised to learn he wears a prosthetic leg.  And as evidenced from these photographs, he’s never let a silly thing like an amputated leg slow him down.

Never slowed down by his prosthetic leg, Levi loves to climb on rocks.

Scouting for photography assignments in Colorado is always fun.  There’e no pressure and no time constraint.  It’s a perfect opportunity to just relax and plan.  Creative endeavors are usually enhanced by a little forethought.  And whenever possible, I like to bring Levi along… his presence allows me to see the job from a different perspective.  He has helped me to plan Corporate photography assignments in downtown Denver and commercial photo-shoots in the mountains of Colorado.

On this day last September, we were scouting mountain bike trails for a corporate photography shoot in Colorado.  The assignment for the Journal of Accountancy was to photograph the incoming chairman of the AICPA.  The first part of the assignment involved a series of environmental portraits in downtown Denver while the second half of he one-day photo-shoot was spent illustrating one of the new chairman’s hobbies.  The idea to explore Algerfer Park near Evergreen was given to me by several other Colorado commercial photographers.  The idea to check out the granite rocks is credited completely to my clever chum.

It was a great pleasure to photograph business portraits on location for SFC Energy last week.  As corporate photographers in Denver for over 50 years, we’ve never met a more pleasant group of people in one business.  The team at SFC has fun with it’s success and it shows.

The photo-shoot consisted of head shots and executive portraits of 6 individuals.  Commercial photographers in Denver or any city know that about the challenges of controlling reflections in the windows.  And this Denver commercial  photography session was no different.  The window overlooking the Denver skyline from the 25th floor did reflect everything that was being lit inside the boardroom.  Several of the corporate portraits with the Denver skyline background needed a bit of retouching.

A handsome Denver corporate photo for SFC Energy. Executive portraits in Denver, or for that matter any other city, are often more interesting as environmental business portraits in Denver rather than dull studio business head-shots.

This stunning executive portrait in Denver was created on location at the SFC Energy office. Denver corporate photography at dusk is often more interesting than business portraits in Denver at midday.

The photo-shoot for The Dalton Agency was really a blast.  The client needed some commercial photography to advertise their new line of surfer attire and they needed professional photos quickly.  So I used the studio space at Camren Photographic Resources.  The blue sky was added later by our crack retouching department at deCroce Photography.  Denver commercial photographers and corporate photographers throughout Colorado agree, clients who pay quickly are the best.  And the Dalton Agency is the best.  Commercial photographers Denver from DeCroce appreciate comments anywhere on this blog.
